We have received numerous phone calls from a sales person regarding attendance to a meeting to discuss our membership.Due to work schedules and previous commitments we are unable to attend. This fellow is now resorting to aggressive sales tactics. He stated that the present managing company for Thousand Trails have relinquished their rights to manage the preserves and tha we must schedule a meeting.

Is he telling the truth? Has TT managing team changed? if so, how does this affect our membership? Any comments are welcome and appreciated.

Bullship. If you are really interested in TT look into either purchasing used off of Craigs list or purchase a zone membership off the interntet.

carlosmodesto -- my take on what you say is that you already have a membership. Many years ago I had a membership and started getting those calls. They finally got me into a meeting and it turned out they were adding more campgrounds and I was going to have to pay more if I wanted to go to them. Their shenanigans ticked me off!! I had a charter membership and was supposed to be able to go to any new cgs they added, but they did some kind of legal mumbo-jumbo and said we had to pay because TT didn't add campgrounds, they just JOINED another group. Tell them that if they have something that is SOOOOO important that AFFECTS your membership, then they can send you the paperwork. Better yet, contact a preserve's manager and ask if there is something going on you should know about. And then be prepared for the next call.

BTW -- I sold my membership.

As the above people stated it is a ploy to get you in to a meeting to try to get more money from you. You do not have to go to the meeting unless you want to give them more money for their so called upgraded membership.

I am sort of disappointed. I keep reading about this "meeting" on the different Thousand Trails Forums that I belong to, But I have not gotten my notice yet. Who are the "Lucky" one to get this invitation?

Ranae and I thank you all for your responses. I requested from the sales person, before the conversation degraded, to send me in writing any changes they make to my membership. let's see what happens. Thank you all,

That very meeting question came up at our manager's meeting this past weekend. It is not Thousand Trails but a third party sales group selling upgrades. You have a contract and that remains in place. If they call again tell them to pound sand. Now a couple of years ago I went to a program at an ODW campground and listened to a pitch by a ODW member. It made sense at the time to me and the upgrade was much more reasonable plus there was no pressure. Watch out for the third parties.

I was called once several years ago, told them not interested in upgrades and no more calls. Sounds like a 3rd party. He sounds like a jerk. Tell him not interested and take you off his list.
