Latest issue of Highways had a article about using RV.net or one of the other portals to send Marcus a message. I am sure many of these post come from there.

You ever notice that some of the worst bashers are either new members or not even members of Good Sam. There are several individual that just go on and on all the time about Good Sam and Camping World. I've noticed when a CoachNet complain comes up they are the first to say it didn't happen or the individual didn't follow threw right.
We're charter Life Member since 1991 and have worked on state staff 12 years. We work closely with our State Camping World Stores both when on staff and now as a chapter. We find our store employees the best people to work with in the country. We have found a lot of the problem with customers to be the customers not the people working there. Some of these customers would be escorted out a lot of stores for the way they talk and act.
As for Good Sam we have ERS and very good service over the last 10 years. We don't have a junk mail problem from them but from several others companies. So Good Sam is not the only one who sends out tons of mail!!

It still amazes me that when members point out bad experiences or inappropriate practices regarding a company that some always want to consider it bashing.

When a customer walks up to a counter and they are ignored and/or the clerks are rude does that make the customer the problem?

Just because an RVnet forum member does not 'sport' the GS logo under their profile name does NOT mean they are not a GS member. It just means they chose not to have a clickable advertising link for GS attached to their RVnet profile. Go back last year and read all the posts of the members who did not like that it was automatically added. Which is why the GS logo is now an 'option' if you want the logo added to your name. So no, your observation is incorrect.

For rockhillmanor information in the last 7 years I've never seen a customer ignored or an employee rude to anyone when we were in the store (we been in the store a lot of hours). I've seen a lot of very rude customers who think they should be waited on first in front of everyone else. You only have so many people on the service counter and they are both taking care of in store customers and answering the phones. I've also watched people get vocal because they don't stock ever part they need for their RV, not waited on fast enough, they in a hurry, or something is out of stock. I've also seen some real clunkers brought in for service and the owners get upset when they are given a list of problems that should have been taken care of months/years ago. Seen customers units sit for week s after repairs are complete for pick up with calls made to them but they ignore because they have free storage at Camping World until they're ready to go again. This takes up a lot of parking space. Rigs with engine or transmission problems left to set for months waiting for the owners to have the unit towed out to a repair shop. No there's two sides to every story and I've seen both. Sure thing might not go as planned but you have the same problem with service for cars and trucks it's just you have more places to take them to.
As far as the logo on the forum, I'm proud to be a Good Sam Life Member and look who owns the site. It is not an advertisement to me just something that says I belong to a very good organization. As Good Sam chapter members we have been involved giving thousands of dollars to other organization, worked the moving wall, worked at a nature center for under privileged kids, and put on State Samborees for our members. YES I am pround of what we as Good Sam members have done and fly both the Good Sam and Camping World logo every chance we get.

Many people have unrealistic expectations of what is possible. I am currently not a GS member but have been when it worked for me. I may be a member agin some day. Do they do some annoying things at times? Sure they do but that does not prove there is a systemic failure throughout the entire organization and the same is true for CW. I use these groups when it meets my needs and try to keep expectations reasonable. Some people will never be happy and the ones that are do not usually post it on a forum.

Rockhillmanor, your statement makes it look like you are saying all camping worlds are that way. Have we been to one that treated us that way? Yep and we don't visit it again. Have other people had good results at that same one? Yep, they've told us they had. But we have been to other CW stores that treated us well. Where is a forum for Walmart where we can bash them about bad experiences there?

Nope, I just responded to a post that chose to use a broad stroke and made the statement that all the 'customers are bad' not CW employees as if they have inside knowledge of the customers being at fault to be true in all CW stores.

So you base this information on the ONE store you have been in?

I also am proud to be a member of Good Sam Club, but as with any club, company or person, their not perfect… however since Marcus took the wheel, I feel our Club is even getting better. They also have been responsive to any questions I may ask, so in my opinion they have excellent customer service. Every experience I’ve had with Camping World has been good.

I am amazed how some people (customers) can be so demanding a rude. I see this in all kinds of stores, or businesses. I can see how some associates can be a bit “snippy” with some customers. I even see that with some on this forum, some people just don’t have respect and are very demanding. Myself, I try to treat anyone as I would want to be treated.

As for the Good Sam logo, I have no qualms at all about displaying the logo on my screen name, in fact I like it. It shows I am supporting RV’ing by being a member of the largest RV Club in the United States & Canada.

Anyone doing bashing of Good Sam Club is easy to deal for, I ignore them… simple…
