I noticed my B&W Companion hitch head was not sitting level with the 5er unloaded. Upon closer examination I discovered that the little shock absorber had failed. Everything works fine, it just doesn't sit level.
So I called B&W and explained the situation and wanted to order a new shock absorber. The hitch is a little over 6 years old so it is about a year out of warranty. Imagine my surprise when they only asked for my serial number and address, and said they would ship one right out at no cost!! Even though I'm way out of warranty, they still stood behind their product 110%. Great folks.
They don't even do voice mail, a real live person answers the phone.
Just thought I would pass this along if anyone is wondering what hitch to buy.

And when your u-bolts fail, and they will, they'll send you a new set for free, too. Also, they'll send you the little leveling spring for free, too (this tilts the head back to make hitching easier). I'm a convert, and I use my Ball, too.

I installed the turn over ball in my 98 Ram and Companion then when I bought my 2011 Ram I bought and installed another turn over ball and took the Companion from the 98 and installed in the 11.
Only hitch I know of that there is no question if the king pin is secured or not. If the handle is closed and pin or lock installed YOU ARE SECURED!
1" thick jaws fully enclose the kingpin.
No rails in bed when not in use.

I just replaced my ten year old Reese Select 16K with a B&W Patriot. I called the company with a question about the hitch. The lady I spoke with was very knowledgeable and pleasant. When the hitch arrived I couldn't believe the the care that had gone into the packing. Not a single chip or scratch. The powder coating and welds are perfect. As stated above: MADE IN USA very high quality!

I have had 2 Turnover Ball hitches and used the same Companion. You are correct, it is an awesome hitch and a Great company. Can't see me ever not using a B&W!
I too broke a U bolt on my Companion days before a trip. I then called to order some new hardware and have it rush delivered. I was shocked to hear that they were going to send me a hardware kit and have it 2nd day shipped all free of charge. It arrived in time for my trip and called back to thank them again for the EXCELLENT service. I will never own another brand of hitch as long as I own a GN or 5th.
My brother recently purchased a Class V hitch for his truck and was completely satisfied with the heavy duty quality and ease of install. B&W is top notch.
