Hi
I am a newby, I have a 2006 Newmar Kountry Star. How can I tell when I am filling the tank when it is full, is there a overflow somewhere. I was filling it for about 20 minutes and there was no overflow, or maybe it just wasnt full. I dont know.

When I drain the tanks is there a water plug that I pull to drain it, or is there a water pump to pump it out. Last time I drain it I used the pump on the motorhome to drain it.

Thanks

Yes there should be an overflow when the tank is full. Also you should have a panel in the RV that has indicator lights indicating approximate fill level. Also, in the wet bay usually, should be valves labeled "LOW POINT DRAIN" to drain the water system and water heater.

There is a panel in the RV, but it shows full all the time. I have been looking for a low point drain, and have not found one. Like I said before I used the rv water pump to drain it this time.

Using the pump to drain the FW tank may the only way that you can drain it. Do you have an owner's manual? It should explain it.

on my fifth-wheel the water line coming from the fresh water tank to the water pump has a drain you can turn on to drain the water tank, switch the bypass valves for the water heater and the pump will fill the hotwater tank, and pump all the air from all the waterlines going to the sink faucets and the lavatory, for filling fresh water have a place on the side of the camper i just stick a hose in and turn the water on when it starts running over it is full, very simple to do,

Look in the water compartment and on the left side way in the back, probably even into a "hole" in back of the water compartment and you should find the low point drain valve.

I can not believe that rig would not have a low point drain. Check around for a valve down around the base of the water tank, or in the pump area.

Alaska is next! Still trying to fit the pontoons to the RV so We can get to Hawaii!

Look under Your Coach. You should see some 1/2~5/8" Plastic Tubes sticking straight down. These are the Drains and will have valves inside the storage compartments above where they protrude.
There may be 3 Drains. "Low Point - Water Heater - Water Tank "
The Overflow should also be a Tube larger in diameter and will likely have a Rubber Envelope covering the end which opens (Slit) to allow excess water to flow out.

I did find the overflow, it was the tube with the rubber envelope on the end of it.
I do have two hoses where i fill it with valves, i think that is my drain hoses, but should i have three hoses (low point, water heater, water tank)?

P.S.
thanks you all for you help
