Haha, this is awesome. I'll tell her to make sure she does her hair before she leaves.
1. Tell her to know your unit and don't listen to what other people are saying but to listen to what you told her..
2. No matter what,,, others are watching and the men will come to your rescue but their wives get a bit PO'd, I find some woman don't want to tow, and they don't want you showing off in front of them,,and they certainly don't really want their husbands helping you. A pull through site should be pretty easy for her, tell her not to let other make her nervous, if they seem to be hanging out watching tell her to wait,, have the wine first,,,hook up the hoses,, they'll go away..and then unhitch..
Honestly, I usually oversee the setup when we go. If you run through it with her a few times and you're confident enough to send her on her own, I can't imagine it being that bad for her. Most of the time I am over cautious anyway so I don't do anything until I'm sure. Maybe you should run through it with her and let her make her own list.
We'll be heading out to pick up the trailer Wednesday night after work, so I'm going to make her do the whole hookup procedure herself with me watching. Lots of good suggestions on this thread though, I'll be updating the list. Thanks to everyone who responded.

Oh I hope that's not true. The only time I wouldn't want mine helping is if she was snobby to me but all over him, lol. I would hope the wives would realize that this may be them someday if something were to happen, and they would surely want the help.
My DH wants me to learn to tow. He lets me back up into our driveway already - with MUCH assistance from him. Only a matter of time....
Well.... my wife can hook-up, drive/tow, and unhook without ANY assistance from me whatsoever! It pays to be married to a redneck girl lol.... Sometimes just to humor myself I play dumb and ask her if I'm doing something right/wrong just to see if she knows, and every time she is dead on the money with her answer.
Not to mention she can drive anything, back anything, etc.... I am just a lucky guy I guess LOL!
Golden HVAC mentioned earlier about not hooking up the sewer hose on your first night there. I have to disagree with that statement. I used to not hook up my sewer hose the first night anywhere. Then last August I had some RAT BASTARD play a practical joke on me. With the cap to my sewer connection on, someone in the middle of the night pulled my black tank valve. I had about 2 gallons of you know what sitting right there at the cap. All I could do was close the valve and pull the cap as quick as possible and get out of the way.
Needless to say, I always hook up my sewer now.
Anyway, to reply to the topic at hand...Just like others have said, have her do her hair up real nice and pretty. Drive to the campsite, get out of the truck and have her act real stupid like she doesn't know what she's doing. She'll have help real quick.

Ilive near the city so you get SOME woman who camp but don't know a thing about the equipment and they don't want to know so they don't like it that you know,,
My daughter, 3 small grandchildren and I go camping by ourselves quite a bit. We usually meet my sister (who drives a 5th wheel) and her 3 grandchildren.
We set up by ourselves. It is almost a matter of pride in being able to do it without help.
Sometimes the men at neighboring campsites are watching and it makes us a little nervous that we have to do the backing-in "on stage". But we go slow, double check EVERYTHING, and are careful to be safe.
Then, when everything is done we pop a cold one and relax. We are CAMPING!
PS....your wife will do fine. Just tell her to be in control and thinking about every step.
