I am replacing my 12volt battery with a couple of 6v GC2.
I have found that my converter/charger is not doing its job and won't have time to replace it until I get back in a week.
So I would like to get a trickle charger or smart charger that will plug into my generator to charge batteries during the day.
My local stores are Sams Club, Walmart, Pep Boys, Autozone, Sears.
Can someone recommend a charger for the new golf cart batteries? This will help while I am dry camping. Then I can upgrade my converter.

Walmart has Schumacher battery chargers. They work fine. Let your wallet determine how powerful you buy.

Please explain, why does the OP need two 12 volt battery chargers for two 6 volt batteries
I didn't think you could use a 12v charger on 6v batteries, am I wrong?

Save the $110 to $150 and just spend $200 on a converter upgrade from the get go.

Well I need a charger for other things anyway, and since I won't be able to upgrade the converter for a few weeks due to scheduling and a vacation I am going to grab a nice charger, then upgrade later.

The portable Battery charger of choice seems to be the B&D VEC1093DBD smart-mode charger... This is a 40 AMP model but of course can use the smaller amps as well...

Also since you are getting the 6V batteries you probably wont be able to find a 6V charger so keep in mind that you must charge your 6V batteries connected in series.
I have both here and use then both alot... A smart mode convert/charger and a B&D Vector smart mode portable charger.
The 40AMP B&D is right at the maximum draw from using a 1KW Honda type Generator. I think the 40AMP B&D portable charger draws 785WATTS when plugged into your generator set.
My Posts are IMHO based on my experiences - PM me

Then just get a small 10a or less portable.
Best trickle charger IMO is BatteryMinder+ but kinda weak for actual recharging unless small like motorcycle battery. For actual recharging... the 10 or 20 amp Black and Decker is a good buy. No need for the big 40a with a new converter coming soon.
