We have looked all over our TT tires and can't find a long DOT number. All we have been able to find is the size ST 225/75 D 15, the load rating and the numbers K550-05 and a number 01-06504. The only thing with DOT is DOT 7 YAF. Are we missing something?

Took one to a tire store. No marking on them for the date! Now what! Guess we buy new tires!

They only put the date stamp on one side, and many times it will be on the other side of the tire. So look around to the rear side, if you haven't already.

Tom,

Yes, it may be on the inside, date code is only required on one side. And,
Be aware that if the tires are more than 12yo, they will have the three digit date code. Then it is up to you to guess the decade.

LOL. If you have a 3 digit date code, it doesn't matter what decade they were made. Get new tires!

So you have tires made by Kenda. Look aon the other side for the date code. More info on how to read the coding here:

Bought new tires today. Upon looking all over all four original tires the conclusion reached was they were the orginal tires on the 2005 TT. Tire store personnel and we have looked and looked and did not find the NORMAL DOT stamp.

Someone said the old tires were Kenda Tires but the name on the side was Load Star.

Sometimes I wonder where the manufacturers get these tires. I've never heard of Kenda and until I bought my previous TT in 06 I'd never heard of HiWay Master. And no DOT stamp? That doesn't instill confidence. I prefer going with a name I know; Goodyear, Michelin, Maxxis, BF Goodrich.
