We are enroute from MO to Destin FL. Currently stranded in Gardendale after having truck and trailer towed here. Need suggestions for campground tonight in/ near Birmingham. Traveling I65 south. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Try Birmingham South campground just off I65 at exit 242. Its actually in Pelham, AL. Stayed there several times . Recommend.

I like this site for searching for CG's near where you are. Shows where they are, info, phone and directions, reviews all in one place.

Rickwood Caverns is just a few minutes from Gardendale. It's a state park. Has a nice pool and a neat cave to tour.

Thanks everyone. Think we are heading to Oak Mountain State Park for the night. Supposed to be at Topsail but thanks to Debby they have evacuated, not sure how long. We may need a new vacation plan tomorrow. All suggestions welcome!!

My suggestion....STAY where you are at until this blows over!!!
I'm just south of Ocala and this is THE worst storm I have ever experienced in a MH. This is my first Tropical Storm and IMHO I'll take the ole Midwest storms over this any day. And this is NOT even the storm making landfall just the outer bands beating us since 8:00 this morning.

Sorry about your vacation getting messed up, we are pulling out of Panama City in the am. It is not good here at all. we have been here all week and it has been awesome up until this morning. If you are looking for somewhere to go from where you are at i would suggest Chatanooga, Tn. Only about two hours North and there is plenty of stuff to do, a pretty nice variety. Can't really recommend a campground because we stayed in a cabin. There is white water rafting, hiking, rock city, ruby falls, Tenn. aquarium, and much more.

If you want to stayclose to Gardendale then I would second Rickwood Caverns. Oak Mountain is a good deal away.
