I am interested in route advise traveling from Flagstaff, AZ to Durango, CO and nice RV Parks in/or close to Durango. I have a 38 ft. 5th Wheel pulled with a 350 Dodge Ram Dually (Diesel). Thanks

US 89 North to US 160. US 160 to Durango. The more direct route. Can't help with RV parks as I seldom use them.

Definately take the drive up through Monument Valley. If you wish there is a campground at Momuent Valley (Gouldings or something like that). Well maintained red earth and the only CG in the area. Really no reason to camp their unless you want to spend a wonderful day touring the Valley, Indian guides required. I have stayed at Aspen Rose in Durango three times over the years and enjoyed every visit.
Happy Trails.

Durango area can be pretty full when it comes to RV parks. I'd recommend booking now if your plans are solid enough. I haven't stayed at Alpen Rose but went by it last year & it looked nice. It was solidly booked. Back in April I booked some time there for this August.

You might also want to check out Riverside CG. About 10 miles North of Durango proper on the Silverton highway and right on the Animas River.

Stayed 3 nights at this CG and two nights at one diretly across the road (Alpen Rose?) both were nice: Alpen Rose had a bit more room for our 38' 5th wheel
