In my exhaustive googling for info/prices on a new Class C (Winnebago Access 26QP for example) I find the the dealers list the MSRP as say 90K but go on to list it as 'On Sale' for say 63K. They all list the same numbers from FL to CA and points in between.
So is it this 'sale price' where we are to start haggling? If I was able to get 10% off this new unit that has a MSRP in the 90's, and their sale price in the 60's and ends up selling for 55ish??
I have a headache...hahaha.

While I was not looking for a new Class C, I ran into the same problem when I was searching for the used C...prices were all over the spectrum! I decided I was going to be somewhere between NADA low retail and high retail. What the owner was asking was some 30% above what I eventually gave him. It's a buyer's market...make an offer...you can always walk...

On Sale for 63K.........that's my starting point for some good haggling.
You do two things with vehicles...collect them or sale them.
They're in the business of selling them.
Haggle and don't be afraid to walk. Lots of RV's for sale at lots of places

When we bought our RV at a big RV show, the "Special Show Price" came down 10% as soon as they found out we had nothing to trade in. Dealers need that hold back so they can offer a person trading in an RV an amount that won't be insultingly low.
The price came down a little more after I informed them it was a cash deal and I did not need financing.
Then it came down just a little more as we started to walking towards another dealers display.
We had already made two trips to the show (spent a day and half there)and I figured this was a fair price. But I am sure there was still a few hundred dollars more wiggle room available for a really good haggler.

If you can get 30% off msrp on any RV you are doing really good and have pretty much beaten the "depreciation hit". For your example it looks like they are already knocking off close to 30% so your probably not going to get much better than that. I would give it a sot and put in your offer of 55k, who knows you could still do better than the 63k. It costs nothing to ask and at 63k you are still getting a good deal. Good luck.

Don't count on beating that depreciation hit. Since just about EVERY dealer sells at 28-30 (or more) off MSRP, the hit you take will be based on the REAL price, not the inflated MSRP. That 90k coach that someone just bought for $64k is actually a $63K coach that someone bought for $64K... and when the back wheels hit the end of the dealer's lot, it's a $56k coach.
Alaska is next! Still trying to fit the pontoons to the RV so We can get to Hawaii!

The reason I had put "depreciation hit" in quotes is because imho it only matters if you plan to sell or trade. These Rv's are expenses (and continuing expenses at that) not investments so you are never going to get your money back on them. You get your true value out of them by using and enjoying them (and judging from your map you are getting your value out of yours ). If you buy an RV with a plan to sell or trade then you are planning to lose.

Interesting information. As much as it would be more convenient to trade in my older 5th Wheel that may just be another way for them to recover some of their 'lost' profit during the haggling.

First, try and get a build sheet. You'd want one if you were going to order one anyway. It will list the base unit and all options including MSRP for all. Call Lichtsinn RV in Iowa and Lewis RV in Ohio to get a price quote on what you want. Those will be your target to meet. I got 26% off MSRP on a factory ordered 2011 Winnebago product in Marysville Wa. They came within a few hundred bucks of the Lewis quote.

IMO you are better off selling the 5th wheel on your own if you can afford to sit on it for a bit.
