Buy 2 plastic tub that fit in the kitchen sink. Fill one with hot water and wash dishes in that, fill the other with warm water, and rinse in that. If you do dishes twice a day, and shower at the campground showers the tanks will easily last 5 days. My wife can fill my rear grey tank (40 gal?) in less then a day with running water in the sink.

I use biodegradable soaps and cleaning products in my TT so I can drain off the gray tanks when dry camping. It is rationalized by the virtue that if I were tent camping I would be doing the same of dumping my wash water at the edge of the campsite anyway. Most campgrounds with wash stations run to a pipe that is dumping on the ground anyway. The soil on long island has a great percolation rate so I can trickle about 40 gal gray in 2 hrs without any ponding.

During the day we walk down to the restrooms. We would change our mind if we ever were where they were dirty restrooms.

We also got a portable dump (Blue Tote??). I'm not going to shower in the cg and really don't want to use their facilities if I can help it. I really want to live much like I do at home as far as bathroom/showers. It has been a huge help as it keeps us from stressing over whether we're near full.

I would think anyone coming from a popup would have no problems with tanks this size! Just pretend you're in your old rig!

Yeah, it's a big rig... 41' 10". I checked with the campground (Bull Run Regional Park in Northern Virginia) and have reserved a pull-thru site that will support it's length.

It seems pretty, but we haven't actually seen one in person. Our order is supposed to come in next week (finger's crossed - or this whole post will be moot).

AND... coming from the pop-up. It was a LOT simpler back then; I used a 5-gallon bucket to catch my gray water and dump it in a toilet daily. The cassette toilet was only used for tinkles and was dumped every-other-day. But, both could be done without breaking camp and moving the trailer.

We'll see... we don't mind using the CG facilities; so I'm not too concerned.

I watched an older gentleman dump his blue tote a few years ago at a PA State park. He rinsed the blue tote out, which I found pretty normal, but then he added a gallon of bleach. This piqued my interest as I though this guy is really serious about no odors. I walked over to talk to him and noticed that he dumped the bleach out of the tote and was adding plain water. I said to him that he certainly does an efficient job of cleaning his tote, and he respond, " I have to make sure it's clean so that I can haul fresh water back to use in the camper." At first I thought he was joking, until he filled the tote to the top and wheeled off to his camper. To this day, I often wonder if he hauled the water back to simply rinse out his black tank or if he used the water for bathing and cooking.

Let's first make sure that's what it has! I'll report back next week.
