What is the going rate for an extended warranty on 2012 $200k motorhome? Who has the best policy? Looking at one now at CW on a 5yr/60k miles platinum policy for $6995.00!!

THAT'S ABOUT 2X WHAT IS SHOULD BE. Negotiate them down or contact Wholesale Warranties directly.

Seems a bit pricey to me as well !!
I think you should shop around before making a final decision.

I got a 7yr or 80k miles for less than 6K on a 2008 used rig. Covers basically every thing except furniture, glass. Covers appliances, Inc stereos, TVs, etc. It is a Interstates Diamond policy. 100 dollar deductible. Used it for TV replacement, repair power gear leveling jack problem, replacd power steering pump, and furnace control panel. I'm happy with it. I would pass on an extended warranty for a new rig. The factory warranty is going to cover you for quite some time. As the factory warranty starts running out the I would look at an extended warranty.
Sorry hard to type on phone

Two come to mind...ExtraRide and Alliance. They are both sold by Wholesale Warranties. XtraRide is a 5 year policy and Alliance is a 4 year. Price is about the same depending on upgrades. I wanted a policy the has the waiver and XtraRide does not offer it. I also got mine with a $50 ded. When looking at policies make sure you know what you're getting. Most policies have wording that states if a covered part fails due to the fault of a non covered part, the covered part is not covered. Alliance has an upgrade that eliminates that phrase. It simply states what is NOT covered...if it's not listed, it's covered..period...I liked that so I went with them. About $4500 for 4 years....Dennis

I have a 2002 Winnebago 40J, purchased last August.
I got the Extraride Platinum coverage because this motor home is very complex and costly to repair.
Last week the transmission went out. It is being replaced with a re manufactured one. Extraride approved the repair, after several days, less the deductible, shop environmental costs and shipping for the new transmission.

Extraride's portion will be about $5700. I will pay about $850.

The policy cost $2000 per year. Ive made up almost three years worth of premiums.

This is an insurance policy, when something goes wrong it's nice not to have to have a big out of pocket cost.

Some of the companies mentioned have decent reputations....I would also contact Wholesale Warranties and get a quote from them......

I bought their policy about 2 yrs ago, used it once, and it went well....In my research, they were the cheapest for what I got ...

Do some research though..There are a number of people in these types of businesses that are nothing more than crooks....Also, receipts are worth their weight in gold..If you have a problem and cannot prove that you adhered to the mfg's maint sched you will have big problems getting reimbursed.....
