A coworker and a good friend passed away suddenly this weekend of a massive heart attack at much too young of an age.
We had camped together before and I had said no twice this year as I was just to busy with life.
Just a couple weeks ago he called and ask us to meet him and his wife at Mackinaw and we could not.
We both intended to retire in about 4-5 years and were looking forward to alot more time to camp and travel together.

The phrase "Have RV, Will travel" is so much my precious this week as I stare at his memorial trying to write his wife a letter.
You just never know when your time will be called.

Sorry for your loss. Continue to camp with friends, including his wife if she will. I'm sure it's what he would want you to do.

Very sad. And "too young" extends to higher ages each year...

Bill Cosby used to do a skit about how nice it would be if God rang a little bell in your head 1 hour before you were going to die.

They you would have a chance to say goodbye to all your friends and family, watch a sunset one more time, hold your lived ones in your arms and even have a slice of your favorite pizza one last time.

But instead, the person you know and love just stops being there.

Just tell his wife what his friendship meant to you, and how much you'll miss him...and how you'll look forward to seeing him again some day.

So sorry for your loss, and for his wife and family. I'm going on 40 in a few months, and have lost several friends recently, on top of losing both of my parents. It really brings it home how little time we have when you suffer the loss of someone dear to you, and it makes every day much more sacred to you. Do the best you can to be there for his wife, and try to get her camping with you (as someone already suggested)I'm sure that is what he would want.

Take care.
