Ok, those who have a tire pressure monitoring system, is it worth having one and does it pay itself off in gas savings?

I think the major use for the TPMS is to avoid damage to the rv in case of a tire blowout. I had two tire blow within 5 miles of each other before I bought mine. Even without a TPMS, tire pressures should be checked frequently.

I carry and use a gage in every vehicle and doubt I would save a dime on gas from their use…

Not likely to save enough gas to ever pay for itself. But to warn you of a tire going flat or a blow out and minimize damage, worth it's weight in good+.

My 09 PW has a TPMS and at first I couldn't understand why I was getting a TPMS warning on my dashboard that would not turn off. I thought the TPMS had a problem because all four of my tires were at the proper inflation level per my tire gauge. So I thought, could it be my spare, and guess what, the spare was way low in air pressure. I thought it was really cool that even the spare tire was monitored. I generally check the air pressure in my four tires once every couple of weeks even when it is parked in my driveway, but I did not check the spare. So now occasionally I check the spare also. The TPMS system saved me from perhaps being stuck on the road with a spare that was way low in air pressure. TPMS is a good idea.

Do they have internally mounted devises like on new cars/trucks or all are mounted on the valve stem. If your toad has them factory installed would they be able to talk with the monitor on the motorhome. Seems technology is here to be able to accomplosh this without much expence. Just thinking Larry
