Planning to send some time in the PA Dutch area. Looking for an RV park that is centrally located. Country Haven in New Holland looks possible. Any other suggestions? Thanks to all who share their knowledge.

White Oak at Strausburg is back past Sight and Sound, we often stay there as it isn't so expensive. It is 4 miles from the strip. Old Mill is nice if you have kids and are going to the park.

Country Haven isn't far from Shady Maple Buffet and their other buildings but is quite aways from the strip, about 12 miles. If you are a Thousand Trails member you can use Spring Gulch which is near Country Haven.

Check rvparkreviews for the area campgrounds. Most of the distances they tell you are from the strip (rt 30)

Country Haven is a great park. With that said, it does depend on what you are looking for. They have very good hookups, fantastic views and no activities, including no pool. They strictly enforce rules which we appreciate. They call themselves "The Quiet One" and that is what you get.

Beacon Hill, in farm country and 5 minutes from Bird In Hand. Old Mill is off the main drag and in the middle of all the outlets.

Found out the hard way last fall that you need reservations in that area. It seems they have all sorts of "holiday weekends" that we out West have never heard of!

Roamers CG in Kinzer was okay, but lots of rules.

We've stayed at Country Haven many times and enjoy the view AND the rules! In all our years never heard mention of "the strip". What and where is it?

The "strip" is the section on and close to US-30 where all of the outlets, restaurants, stores and tourist traps are located. It's the area avoided by the locals.
