One day I want to make that trip.
I will be adding a cat or three to the trip.

You're 78? Then please be sure you have extended medical coverage! Remember, ambulance costs aren't covered by your B.C. medical and can cost dearly if you're in a more remote area of Canada!
BTW, when are you visiting Yukon?

I "visit" the Yukon via your pic's Sue (saves fuel) - but - YEAH maybe.
Have extended coverage thru Blue Cross, but normally add this - one way or another. One of the "JOYS" of being older is the HUGE costs of insurance, it almost makes fuel cost seem cheap!
Vehicle insurance - done this week. 5er insurance - not due until Nov.
Being a former "drummer" (traveling salesman) I have been coast to coast - from the middle to either side - never across the whole enchalada, so it is about time - mind you that was 25 years ago, no doubt some things have changed.

Well, you can "see" Yukon through images, but you can't "feel" Yukon unless you visit! We'll pencil you in for 2013 ... spot reserved in our "yard" for your rig.

Very simple checklist:
1. Get lots of money.
2. Drive until half of it is gone.
3. Turn around and go back home.

No matter how many trips we make, we always forget something. (s) I just accept that and figure if I need it I will replace. In my garage at home, I now have either 5 or 6 camping axes. Now I keep one in the truck and one in each RV. We are currently camping in western Colorado, and found we forgot the marshmallow roasting sticks. LOL. When I was traveling to Juneau on business numerious times a year, I would often forget to pack a rain coat. When we moved from Alaska, I had a half dozen or more in my closet that I had purchased in Juneau.
Ont trip I failed to pack enough memory chips for my cameras and had to buy more. Same with printer paper. One trip I forgot my electrical multimeter so had to get a new one. My wife claims some of my "forgetting" is not an accident but allows my justifying buying new tools. LOL
