We've towed an '11 CRV for many miles, never an issue. Do you have the nav package, I've heard some CRVs have battery issues when they have it?
Towing is fine the first two days....the third day we arrive in SC from home and the batteryis dead..have to get a jump from the rangers at Hunting Is....it has happened once too often,got to do something about it...youre lucky so far

You can't tow it three days with out starting it. We start ours each night...then in the AM to prep it for towing.

We tow a 2010 CRV. First thing I did was install the "Toad Charge" system. Therefore I've never had a problem. Works great !!

We put a toggle switch from that fuse to the inside firewall on the drivers side. No problems, someone online had told us how to do it.

We have a 3-month-old 2012 CRV with the same battery discharge issue. Died once when towing and then died the other night after playing the radio in a parking lot for about 1.5 hours. The display screen still stays on in "accessory 1" mode which I suspect is a major culprit.
Being electrically challenged I am trying to decide between:

1. Getting the "Toad Charger" and likely having someone install it or;
2. Getting a much stronger battery than the 410 CCA lighweight that came with the car. I did this with my 2007 when we first got it and never had another problem. There is plenty of room for a larger/much stronger battery.

New battery would be easier solution - NAPA is right down the street. Has anyone tried just the larger battery in a late model CRV with the display screen?

Been towing for years....know enough to start and run every day....still dead at the end of our trip

Am I missing something? I just connected the coach to the tow car with a fuse and diode between. It was easy and easy to connect and it works.

I actually had a conversation with Honda Corporate in CA. a few months ago about this fuse and it's location. I asked where my little guy was that was supposed to pull it when I needed it done. What got their attention was when I told them if I had known how hard the fuse was to reach I would not have bought the CRV. Mine is a 2011. I told them about the RV FuseSwitch sold out of Canada but they won't cover the CRV under Warranty in the event of aftermarket caused damage. I suggested they do a few things to make removing the 7.5amp user friendly. 1. Move it to the fuse box under the hood. 2. make it easier to get to at the bottom of the dash and 3. Evaluate and approve the RV FuseSwitch for use in the CRV. Waiting to see if the 2013's or 14's have been modified. The guy I talked to (Todd) said I was the first one he has heard this problem from. So, if more of us rv'ers email Honda about this perhaps they'll make some changes. The CRV is a great Toad and the Navi is one of the best I've used.
