I just installed a 6600R with the remote control. It seems as though there is no middle ground as far as the dome being open or closed-it is either fully open or completely closed-does this sound right?
I installed this because the vent that was located there was to high-could not reach the crank to open vent and it also did not have a fan in it.
All I wanted was a vent-fan combination that I could control how far vent was open and also control the fan-on-off.
This paticular setup has a temperature control that you can program and have it completely automatic.
It also has manual mode where you can set the fan speed. But in either auto or manual the dome is either completely closed or all the way open-very displeased with this.
Anyone have any ideas.

That is the way my 6600R operates. Works for us.

That is the way the Fantastic vents work, either fully open or fully closed. I have installed a couple, we have three, and I cannot think of any way to change it other than disabling the auto open/close function.
We have one over our bed with a Max Aire cover which prevents it from opening fully, so I disabled the auto open function and open it manually, but that one is situated where it is easy to reach by hand.
Not sure why you would want it partially open anyway if it is not covered.

That would be a problem for us. I routinely open my FF just a couple of inches when it's raining and let it run. I do not want a Max Air cover. Been there and didn't like its pitfalls.

How do you open them just a couple of inches? Do you do this manually?
I can open my manually do to it being to high. Mine runs off the remote only.
That is what i want to do-just open a couple of inches.

My '96 Beaver has 2 Fantastic Vents. Recently, The cover that holds the motor up broke. I called Fantastic Vents for part. They sent me two new covers with new motors and lift arms. They have a knob that allows you to manually open the covers to whatever height you want. I like to leave them slightly open for air circulation. I only had to pay freight. Fantastic Vent-fantastic service. You should call them.

I was considering the covers. What are the pitfalls?
