We are going to visit Abilene Christian University with our son and wanted take our RV instead of a hotel. How is the state park and how far is it from the university? A map shows about 20 miles or so.

This is one of the prettiest state parks in this park of Texas. About 20 miles southwest of Abilene. The park has a new park ranger, and he's making changes for the better.

You will enjoy the State Park. Best part is if you like a GOOD steak the park is near the Perini Ranch Steak House.

Plan time for a visit in Bufflo Gap too.

It is only around a thirty minute drive into town. We stayed there instead of in the noisy hotels when attending a convention a center near the University. Wife enjoyed it since we took the dogs and she could relaxed and take the dogs on walks while I went to hear talks.
