Well, it appears that North of the city it is, now to find a park other than the Petaluma KOA park! From my web surfing, I am coming up the Novato RV park as being what appears to be a good choice. Another rv park is the Marin park which doesn't give much info about their park but is a 10 minute walk to the Lakespur ferry terminal.
It looks like taking the Lakespur ferry to the main San Francisco terminal then walking or taking a bus to the wharf area is the way to go rather than trying to drive a 1 ton dually truck and find parking in the wharf area.
Anyone stay at the Novato or Marin RV parks?
2006 Duramax Diesel 1 ton dually tugging around a 2006 Mobile Suites 36TK3 #2609. Retired and just travelling around now and then seeing the sights.
We stayed at the Marin park last year. It's not much more than a gravel parking lot. It is clean and close to grocery stores and other shopping. We did use the Larkspur Ferry around the corner. It was a nice boat ride, you go past Alcatraz and are dropped of in a great location downtown.
How about the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton with a Bart Station nearby. I've never stayed there, but parked the trailer there when we went to a Raider game.
