WOW... looked at your budget. What president was it that said.. watch the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves? Whoever... you must really adhere to it..
"We had planned on $2,846 per mo".... not rounded up to $2,850 or down to $2,800.
I salute your dedication to unaltered mathematics averaging.

hallock5...all I can say is thank you! You have opened the kimono so to speak and in doing so likely open yourself up to some of the criticism that seems to be plentyful on these forums.
I really appreciate the insight and openness you have shown, and the realization that you may make a mistake or two along the way.
Thanks again.

No worries, well aware of risks when you launch a financial topic, hoped there would be more benefits than harm, especially for others contemplating full-time and perhaps it would inspire them to take the plunge...

I appreciate the post.. It gives me hope that I will have enough when I retire in a few years to be able to do the same thing. After I read your post, I promptly went to a retirement calculator for my federal retirement, and it looks like, if my savings don't bomb horribly again, I can do this on my retirement and an annuity, without having to depend on Social Security still being there when I am eligible for it.. won't be able to retire as early as you, but several years before Social Security eligibility.

I looked at it as "re-wiring", not "retiring"--I know what I DONT want to do for the next 22 years, now just trying to figure out what I should do . We figured we should go for it while a little bit of youthfulness was still on our side.

Those items plus gas for the toad would be the only significant differences between your budget and ours.
Great observations:
We paid annually for our tow/rv ins=$810 total for both, or $70 mo, excl. cause they are no longer monthly for us, but $3000 was orig mo. budget vs. 2846 you see here to account for the diff...
CG wifi for now, Verizon Mi-Fi poss for future...correct, no Sat. TV...
IMHO when you do consider getting an Internet connection, you should explore getting a smart phone with hotspot capability rather than a Mifi. Under Verizon's new plans it should be cheaper and you gain having the smart phone, in addition. There are so many things you can do with a smartphone to make your life easier (trip advisor and Yelp to name just two) that quite often I don't even need to get my laptop out. Many people disparage smart phones as unnecessary because they don't know how much they can do. It's a lot more than just email these days.
I agree you can do a lot w/ the app's- allstay truck stop, walmart locater & campground locater and gas buddy for gas or diesel. ETC
