Checking on our friends: Dub(?), Madmav and any others in that area. How are you doing? I have seen some photos of neighborhoods wiped out by the fire; terrible destruction. I wish you well. Don

Some of the evacuation notices have been lifted, the fire is 45% contained tonight. Hwy 24 might re open tomorrow. I was in Woodland park on Friday it was almost a ghost town with everything on the east side shut down and the Hwy closed, pretty sad to see it that way.

Thanks, Don! We are fine! Mav is east of me, so I am sure he is doing ok! I work at the USAF Academy and WOW did it get close up there. Our home is fine, fiver and family all good. We went to NM for 3 days to get away from the smoke. It has been a trying week in Colorado Springs......

Just to share....I was at work on Tuesday with a birdseye view of the fire at 4 p.m. when the wind changed and the wildfire crossed through Queen's canyon and over the ridge into the homes of Mountain Shadows. I cannot say in words how terrible it was to see and my heart goes out to those that had to run from the fire in that neighborhood. Very, very scary......

It was a pretty crazy week. Walked out of the gun show that first Saturday and you could see the flames. We were that close and they were that big. Just got worse from there. Sucks about the 346 houses and two deaths. We left on a pre-planed vaction to the souther mountains, so we only had to smell the smoke for a few days. I guess the town pulled together though and life will continue. God bless all.....
