We camped in Bloomington, Indiana, three weeks ago and was very hot, exceeding 100°. (Taste of Bloomington was still fun.) AC ran most of the time. Bigger problem was the weeping tulip trees that covered everything with a sugary mess. Washed off when we got home but it was camping in molasses sometimes.
Last week we were at Letchworth, NY, and it was just as hot.
PUGs on the tent roofs, shiny side up help. Close the bed curtains during the day.

We have a Palomino HTT and we camped this past week in temps of 100+ degrees. I use 8x10 tarps with the silver side out and we only opened the bunk end that we sleep on. It was comfortable after the sun went down. Our little Chahuahua didn't want to leave the camper during the day.

i am quite surprised that some members are having such difficulty keeping theier HTT cool. We have had very warm weather up here in teh great white north - has been 36/37 Celsius (95/98 F) with very high humidity and have had no issue keeping our unit cool. Actually on High/Coldest setting it gets too cold and the kids end up putting on a long sleeve shirt. We typically camp in areas with not full sun, and try to park under a tree to get some type of shade coverage, so that may help. We put nothing over the bunk end, but do keep the blinds drawn.
During the heat of the day we are typically out at the beach, and leave AC on cold/low fan setting with the roof vent open, fan going to circulate air, and bunk end top zipper open a crack to again circualte some air and give the hot air a chance to escape.
If it is not cool enough when we return we crank it up for 15 minutes and the trailer basically turns into a meat locker. Was actually surprised at how cold the HTT stays with AC - butter stays fairly hard sitting on the counter with AC on. Wife baked cookies the other day in the dead of the heat, so had oven going for 30 minutes and had no noticeable effect on the temperature inside the trailer.
I guess it must be the shady areas we are picking, as we find the AC works really well - noisy but well.
