What size, and what kind of collapsible ladders do you have? Looking for something light weight but expands tall enough to be able to clean our 5th wheel while on the road. We're taking an extended road trip this winter with our new to us 2007 Wildcat and need some input.
Thanks.

For previous posts on this subject try searching this Forum for `ladder' then search the results for `collapsible'.

I snagged one of these at a Sears outlet for a little less than $200.

I've had one for about 7 years and they're great to have. Unfortunately the price on them has gone out of site. Mine's 12 ft and I paid $100 new on Ebay...

I don't have a ladder, but use a brush on an extended pole to clean my RV. I am lazy and probably shouldn't use the wash and wax stuff, but I do. Should use the regular wax and buff, but have a bad shoulder. If I were to get a ladder I would use the "A" frame type instead of the extendable type. I would think the extendable type would mar the RV when you lean it against it. Where-as the "A" frame is self supporting.

I'm no full-timer but I use a Little Giant I bought at Costco.

Initially, I bought a Collapsible A-Frame Ladder from Camping World. Even though I'm under the 220lb max weight limit, I didn't feel "safe" while on top of that thing. Kinda felt like it was going to buckle at any moment, especially when I reached out from the centerline (think cleaning the top of the front cap or reaching over the top of a slide....)

The Little Giant takes up more room and weighs more than the collapsible kind (especially if you were to mount the collapsible one under the trailer between the frame rails like some do), but I feel better knowing the ladder isn't going to dump me on the ground.

I also bought the Collapsible A-Frame Ladder on sale at CW, and it has only been used once... when I first bought it. I have never found an actual use for it.

I have a telescoping ladder. Bought a few years ago so the price has gone up. But. They are worth it.

Initially bought the collapsable ladder for the 5er. Leaned it up against the sidewall once. Found out I don't want anything leaning against the walls with me standing on it. Took it down and never used it again for the camper.
Then purchased the double sided 7' collapsable step ladder from Campingt World. I was warned by a member of this forum to only buy the double sided. He claimed the double sided is much stronger. It's worked well for two seasons. Once you open it up and set the locks it feels plenty sturdy. It handles my 230/240 lbs.

It also IMHO is lighter and easier to store.

At one time we were looking at one of those collapsible ladders so i tried one at the rv store. The next day went to the big box store and bought a 8ft step ladder. No regrets.
