I finally figured out were my leak was coming from on my class c. The weep holes from the window frame. There not clogged at all but hard rain will make it leak inside my cab over. If I purchase weep hole covers, would that solve my issues or are those just for keeping bugs out? Any ideas on how to stop the leak besides caulking the holes shut?

Google "Weep Hole Covers"....insert the window manufacturer in front of that (Hehr, Segi, etc) and you'll find them!

Try getting into the cabover during the next hard rain with a flashlight. Mine was leaking from the channels the moving pane slides in, but it took really, really close examination to see it. The plastic part that the channel is in is supposed to drain thru a space at the ends to the weep holes via the inside of the frame. My plastic part had slid forward enough to block the front space, so the channel overflowed to the inside.

WHERE were you last week??!

My window was leaking gallons inside the RV during the entire rage of Tropical Storm Debbie, some what thankfully above the kitchen sink.

I couldn't figure it out because it was leaking from the channels. Thanks for posting you saved me an RV mobile repair that starts with a $75.00 trip fee.

If you've followed my leak posts...you know what's been going on in my cabover. I did get inside during one rain recently and found just what several of you are talking about. What I did, (and not completely sure it is 100% effective) is to cut the weep holes a little larger. What I have concluded is that there were several leaks in the cabover and I have found them one at a time. We had a pretty hard rain last week and I put heavy plastic over the cabover and the windows...no water. I've decided that I'm going to Eternabond the roof seams. From all information I've gathered is the best route, effective and not difficult to do. This is our first Class C and I've received some real learning experiences that have been made even better with all of the information gathered at this forum.

I'm not sure I'm understanding...I Googled "weep hole covers" and it appears that the covers fit into the slit on the outside of the window. So where does the water go?

you should not by any means close up weep holes in less you want the water inside your RV. Weep holes allows window condensation to fall to bottom of slide frame rail and exit to the outside. A lot of trouble is with channel in the middle is a divider which allows the slider glass to slide past the fixed. Some times it moves and blocks the weepers.

Heck, I've bragged about... errr, 'posted' ... that tip at least 3 times since I first found the problem in fall of '08.... That's when I finally found the intermittent leak that I'd had since new, that the factory couldn't find. It took me that long to realize that it only leaked when parked a bit nose-down.

There is a good how-to video on cleaning out the channels and weep holes on sliding glass RV windows so that water runs out the weep holes instead of overflowing into the RV, loosening wall covering or delaminating wall material.
