If you want to get off the beaten path. On rt 200 in Thompson Falls Mt is Birdland Bay RV Resort. $28 for full hookup 20,30 or 50 amp. Its about half way between Missoula and Coeur d'Alene. Get off I-90 at exit 43 Kingston in Idaho and go over Thompson Pass. When you arrive at rt 200 go right then take your first left and follow the signs to Birdland Bay RV Resort I know its a great place to park because my DW and I are camphost there.

I agree with Joel, Blackstock Island is a great choice. On-site floating restaurant and good location.
Another great stop just west of Coeur d'Alene is Silverwoods Theme Park. They have a fair size camp ground, albeit with 30 amp power. They have a great lazy river. Lay in an inner tube and let life flow by. Every time you do a complete circuit (Unlimited circuits or time} you pass a bay with a water height bar. Hello! Makes a very relaxing day.
Now, don't want to go on rides? Great! There is more fun putting quarters into a water cannon and hosing a boat ride that has individual boats with power water guns, NOT WATER CANNONS. Boy can you ever soak them. You will laugh yourself to near death.
Lots of good stuff in that area. Enjoy!

Jim and Mary's gets our vote for Missoula. Call ahead and they will hold a site that gets satellite reception. Just have to be back on the south row.

To reiterate, we are on the road over a year, we are not really interested in off I 90 en route to Yellowstone, so while I appreciate all these suggestions we are not looking for amusement we are looking for decent RV parks . We are not really interested in amusement parks.

I suspect your memory is a little faulty, the theme park is 20 miles NORTH of Coeur d'Alene.
Yours is also the first positive review of their RV park I have seen

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

Actually, if you don't call ahead, the odds are they will be full when you get there

We really liked Blackwell Island in ID and found the Koa in Missoula to be acceptable for overnight. Actually the KOA was very helpful when we experienced a mech issue.
