We will be full timing in November of this year and was wondering what banks should consider to use. We have heard of problems with some banks and would like others input. We cant wait as long as we survive dispersing 37 years of married treasures.

We kept our Credit Union. Use their bill pay and direct deposit. Access money at any ATM.

If you are happy with your bank, continue to use it.. Most major banks have a website to track your accounts and move money when needed..
We rarely even went to a bank, maybe once a year..

Move most monthly bills to bill pay.. Change your monthly bills to electronic instead of snail mail..

If you have a debit card, use it at grocery stores and get extra cash when you need it.. We wrote very few checks by using our debit card..

Use your credit card for major purchases and payoff at the end of month.. We used it for gas stations too..

That is the way we did it and also helped with our snail mail..

Good luck on your research..

We kept our home town bank. PennFed Credit Union Visa credit card. The card gives us 5 percent back on fuel and gas paid for at the pump. All transactions are done online.

My days of banking at ANY of the big nationwide banks is over. Chase, BOA, and others are mainly in it for the fees and money they can gouge from customers. My credit union provides ALL of the services including international exchange, all at zero fees.

Pentagon Federal Credit Union. Apply for it now. If you are military you can fill out an application without a fee. If you are a civilian, you just make a $20 donation to one of the two military charities and they will process an application. They are pretty tough on who gets accepted but they would be worth the effort.

Ours has a credit card connected to our credit union account that gives us 5% back on our fuel purchases. So for every $1,000 in gas we get $50 deducted from the credit account balance. We've gone 7,000 miles so far on this trip and it's been nice having that card.
