Hi All
Thought I would inquire about items that are hard to find in Mexico.
I have flown in over the years and stayed at condos etc .... shopped at supermarkets and it seemed that everything was available compared to at home....but.... it would be nice to have a heads up on items that are hard to find.
We plan on doing our first RV trip into Mexico this winter
Thank you in advance for any info you can offer

Tioga George (blogger) often comments on how hard it is to get RV parts. He has to have products flown in from the US.

Yes , I do know about the unavailability of RV parts. I was thinking more of the food, utensils or any other accessories pertaining to RV lifestyle
Thanks 2Oldman....I do follow Tioga George's blog

Well I was going to say guns and ammunition since ownership of either by the general public is illegal in Mexico but apparently there is no shortage of either.

Tomato sauce. That is even hard to find in the RGV because the Mexicans do not use it.

Sorry Sloop, your knowledge on gun ownership in Mexico is amiss. Mexican citizens as well as permanent residents may obtain a handgun or rifle for the purposes of self-defense in their home or for hunting.
I have been offered on two occasions the opportunity to request a permit for gun ownership by the Mexican military. They have a small base in our town and visited each of our neighborhoods. Albeit, it is not as easy as our neighbors to the north who simply walk in with an ID, fill out a form and in 24 hours have a weapon in their hands.

The hard to find items changes and depends on where you are. I see tomato sauce all the time - but other things not so much. Mexico is a big country and some things are more plentiful depending upon where you are traveling - just like in the US.

Pulsar's hammer is quivering in anticipation. There were some threads last year, I think, that stayed serious and had some good info. Might search. My info is dated but I was amazed at the things we could find and I cannot remember anything that we missed. The deli's in some of the stores had European things that DW cannot find in the US. I recall joking with her that I was miserable without my morning bagel---I happened to look down, and there were very good bagels!
