Hi,

Does anyone know if the daily park fee is in addition to the daily camping fee? Or is the daily park fee included when paying for camping?

Thanks!

Happy Travels!

Yup, tack on =$8, PER DAY, and you are going to be $30+ for FHU for a state park..

Okay - this is the thread that I need to ask some questions....

I remember camping in CO as a child and remember names of places but not particular campgrounds. I remember that we were always in tall pines by creeks and/or lakes.

DH and I would like to go to CO in September, but we are at a loss. We would like trees (pines, aspens, ponderoso, etc). Hubby would like some fishing. We prefer state or national parks rather than RV resorts. It would be nice to have hook-ups.

He has hunted in the Delores, Durango, Cortez area. I remember from childhood the following names: Vallecito Creek, Wolf Creek Pass and Gunnison.

Any suggestions for parks? Thanks in advance for any input!

We just spent a few days at Winding River Resort in Grand Lake. Had a great time. They have FHU or Electric and Water. There is tons of stuff to to.

About a month ago (During Weber Fire) we were down at Mesa Verde RV Resort. We will never stay there again. Although Mesa Verde dwellings were awesome.

Why not?

Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.

Vallecito Creek is a nice national forest campground at the north end of Vallecito Reservoir which is 20 miles NE of Durango. We are actually camping there next week. We have camped there many times over the years. No hookups. Most NF and NP campgrounds don't have hookups, most State Parks do.
