A Palm phone could be tethered to a laptop while still using the Sprint $15 data plan. Palm seems to no-longer work with Windows 7 which makes tethering impossible.
Question is, is there another Sprint phone out there that does not require the expensive data package (such as i.e. smartphone, droid, etc...) that still can be used to tether to a Windows 7 machine using the Sprint $15 data plan? Needs to be able to be purchased used off of E-Bay is the other requirement.
If not, then I have better options for the same price which is why I made the above statements.

It is a Palm problem. If using a USB cord Palm has to come up with a USB driver for Windows 7. You just have to find the USB driver for the Palm for Windows 7.
Windows 7 works just like any other operating system to create a connection to a phone. A connection has to be made from the PC to the phone, whether it is by a USB cable or bluetooth. Then a normal dial-up connection is made to the device.

That is what I currently have. The question is what PDAnet software/phone combo would work on the Sprint network $15 data plan using Windows 7.

Do you know if there really is one out there? Have you known other Palm users who could tether to Windows 7.
On Edit:
This is what I found when I googled your idea
"USB synchronization is not supported for 64-bit Windows editions."
Don't know if that's a correct statement or not. BTW Laptop does not have Bluetooth.

I currently run that one. The "non" smartphone choices that I can see will not run on Windows 7. That is the question I have.
What sprint phone can a person have that does not require the expense data plan but only the $15 one that can be USB tethered to a Windows 7 64 bit non bluetooth laptop.
If it can't be done then I will go a completely different route for internet/phone service on the road.
