For many years we pulled a 5th wheel toy hauler, and within the last 8 months we needed to upgrade to a Class A Motorhome. Since my son is a drummer we found it easier for us setting up in the middle of the night, etc. with the motorhome verses the toy hauler. But we have noticed that when we had the toy hauler people in campgrounds would come visit us and ask questions. And since having the motorhome no one wants to associate with us.. Is there a reason for this? We've went from Okla,Tx,Az stopping at many different RV parks but its like we are in a different class and I'm not understanding this. Any help? My husband is 33, I'm 31, kids are 12 and 7.We have a 2011 Thor Astoria..overall Awesome..Excellent interior, rides comfortable.. and looks amazing on the exterior. Not trying to make anyone mad, just want some opinions.Thank You!

Perhaps it is because THs still are a bit of a novelty and folks like to look at yours and any mods you might have made in case they are considering one? We've gone from a TT, thru 2 5vers and are on second MH - have noticed no difference in our reception in cgs.

I think toyhaulers are still new and different to most folks. It gives most an option to ask what you are carrying in there, how you like it, and most find the idea of taking toys along pretty neat.

There is no reliable data that would support what you have experienced. I would say give it some more time and that last stretch of eight months will just be a fluke.

They were curious to what kind of toys you might have had in the towhauler.....
Easier 'ice' breaker.

Now with the MH......you are just one of many......same old/same old....nothing unique.
So get a 'odd' camp sign, 'strange' lawn art, do a 'happy dance'....something to draw peoples attention OR

Go out of your way to 'greet & meet' folks......

You may not be outside as much in the setup routine, therefore people wouldn't see you as much, therefore people woudn't approach you as much.

Maybe you need to tone down your son's drum practice at the campground.
