I installed a tornado in my black tank 5 years ago. It has worked perfectly until this summer.
Today I took it out and installed a new one. The old one will not spin. I can spin it by hand, but it has some resistance.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem? What can I do to prevent further problems?

Thanks
Jamie

I replaced mine after about 3 years, but it was because the plastic thing that holds the hose in place broke. The new one has a metal thing. It has been in use for 3-4 years and I think it may not be spinning (different noise) but it is still keeping the tank flushed out so I haven't taken it out.

I have replaced one of my tornado's twice. One time because the hose connections was made out of plastic. Next time because I did not run antifreeze through the connection. Does not take much water freezing to breakup the mechanism.
