Could have been the guy who posted a while back that it was prefectly okay to go down the road with the slide out. He was heading to get it fixed. I have a couple friends who are state troopers. You would not believe the stories they get - and the violation tickets that they write for those stories.

We used to leave the drivers slide out on purpose. Grandma would sit on the couch and look through the window (to the left of me as I drove). She said the ride was especially thrilling when we would meet simis on two lane roads.

IF you drive with the slide out you are illegal. You have violated the width law. Doug

A couple of years ago, we had an old couple with a mid-entry MH pull out with their 18' main awning extended. We were dumbfounded, when he got near the CG office someone ran out and tried to wave him down, but driver never noticed. He proceeded out of the drive onto a main residential street. We often wonder how far he got before he realized his awning was out or if the awning hit a pole alongside the road. Unbelievable that the driver would not have seen it with his right side mirror.
