What with this never-ending heat, I am so pleased with my 2012 F250. It puts out really cold air, and lots of it. And then there is the cool air thru the seats, too, which is so nice for getting dry and staying dry.

I compare it to my wife's around-town Honda, and there is No comparison. So-so air flow coming from the vents, lots of vent noise anyway, and the air just isn't that cold for quite awhile while it catches up. It reminded me of my last Ford, other than one other truck in-between: a 1977 station wagon. That vehicle had outstanding A/C, too. Pardon me for jumping to conclusions, but I'm thinking Ford excels when it comes to cooling capacity on the inside.

Anyone agree?

The AC in my 2008 Ford SuperDuty company truck isn't as cool as the AC in my personal Silverado.

In this heat to have AC at all is a blessing.

I think it may be a factor of engine size/power & the ability to run a larger compressor. Our Dodge truck has a very cold a/c and we rarely can run it full on before we freeze. On the other hand, our newer Mazda 6 with a 4 cyl. which I think is a fantastic car in almost every other way, can barely keep up on a hot day and I'm tempted to try & recharge it with the kit I bought at Walmart.

Although our camper air doesn't shut up ever, it's a meat locker in comparison to our cars and truck.

The AC in our Ram is great, the AC in our Avenger is just so so but it does get the job done even in 100 plus weather.

Years ago I had a 62 thunderbird that actually shot out little ice bits. It could freeze you out. Since then I have only had general motors products and they have been very good. I too had an Envoy that I loved that never ever had a problem with the ac, or anything else for that matter.

AC in both Expys and F150 will freeze you out. I usually run the front AC on its lowest settings and let the rear do the cooling in the Expys.

'78 Toyota Corolla - excellent (best of the bunch)
'82 Honda Accord - very good
'94 Saturn SC2 - excellent
'97 Toyota RAV4 - excellent
'99 Ford Windstar - good
'02 Toyota Camry - excellent
'03 Honda Insight - just okay (by design)
'08 Toyota Sienna - good

I suspect the "good" for the minivans has more to do with the interior volume than anything else. They have a large hot roof and a lot of interior space to cool down. This might also explain the relative competence of the AC in pickup trucks - interior volume is relatively low.

What I dont like about Ford (2001 F250) is with about 6 positions, only 1 puts out max cold air. The rest are reduced air flow and the temperature is never nearly as cold.

If I knew what wires to switch, Id rewire it now. Heat here is awful.
