just got back from a 3800 mile 3 week trip and only stayed in a campground 3 times. One reason I bought my TC was to avoid campgrounds. I have a class A and if i want to stay in a campground I would take it...life is what you make of it..happy camping..

LOL sounds like a VERY good argument for boondocking to me (not to be confused with parking in a parking lot in town)

I prefer not to stay at a park unless the park has some sort of feature. I'd rather stay at Walmart than pay to stay at the park. Thats what I love about truck camping.

Did you do any research or read any reviews on this park before you went there? Most reviews mention noise problems. It would be nice to let us know what park it is so we can avoid it in the future. Did you report the leash issue about dogs to the manager? If you are walking around the park away from your rv, how do people know whether you are in a Prevost, FW or anything else? Finally, if it was sooooo bad why did you stay the full 2 weeks?

Already posted this picture in another thread but it speaks volumes about our normal camping style.
RV parks just don't do it for us!

I never stay in RV parks. It is strictly state parks, COE's, and NFS sites for me.

We've never stayed in an RV Park, but at times, as others have mentioned, we've stayed in State and NP campgrounds. We're retired and also qualify for the "National Parks and Federal Lands Pass" for seniors 62 years and older. It will save you half price at State and NP campgrounds. It makes the fee a little better to swallow, and for the most part they are well maintained.

My wife and I dont have matching jogging suits or an 8 pound yappy ankle biter, so we are not allowed in most RV parks around here. There also seems to be more and more class A only resorts popping up. State parks in ohio are generally nice but so very crowded! And with the states money making reservation system its tough to get a spot unless you plan a year in advance.

My peeve with all campgrounds is the fee for electricity. I know it is not free, as I have it here at home. What I dont understand is $12 or more/night for electricity. I only have a TC and NO A/Cs unlike some motor homes with two or more.
I going in 10 days and we will see.. Guess I just have to do rustics even in the state parks. CO has some of the nicest state parks.
