OK folks - you all have soo many nice pictures of your remodel. We have a 2002 Journey 32DL. No luck in selling, just wanted a little longer. We will keep and all I plan to do is upgrade and get rid of the brassy look. Ordered satin nickel 12V light to replace and new cabinet hardware. My sticker shock is the wood floors! To not even go under the slides, just from the front door thru small galley area and in hall (stopping at bath and bedroom doors) $2,500.00. I don't get it. Is it labor. I've installed wood, tile in my own home by myself so I have a working understanding of how it goes down. I'm venting, sorry!! Also want to upgrade the TV's but that's where we are electronically challenged. Haven't gotten prices for that yet, but I better put on my wading boots I think.

We put a laminate down in our travel trailer. Just laid it over the linolieum. If you have even 'moderate' carpentry skills you can DIY. We were in Home Depot and they had a clearance on wood floor laminate, can't really remember the price, I'm thinking around 59-69 cents a foot. Used a table saw and a jig saw. Everything just snaps together. If you goof up on a piece, take it back out and try another one. Now we didn't have a slide out to work around, don't know what's involved there, but I'm sure someone will post soon who has done it. Total cost, I'm guessing was under $100. Gary

Someone is trying to rip you off.

We had a bedroom done in our home with true hardwood flooring installed and it was only $2500 for a 10' X 10" room.

The laminate wood flooring is easy to do it yourself.

Morrison's RV

Dianna have you checked with these people?

They are just south of us, about 20 minutes, and I've had them do several jobs for me.

I am pleased with their work and prices.

laminate is a bad idea in any rv......chips too easily and once you have a spill or plumbing leak of any kind you'll be pulling up the whole floor because it will warp. I'd do vinyl planks that lowes sells. 99 cents for a square foot and is thin enough to go up under or fit snugly against the walls and cabinets. I just did a trailer and didn't even have to use shoe molding since it fit well. if you have vinyl floor under carpeting already, you are one step ahead since that can serve as your underlayment. Peel and stick the planks after wiping off floor with alcohol to remove dirt. I will post some pics of my floor later

ArchHoagland, I do not like to speak ill of people who provide services. Your suggested person was my 2,500 quote. Too bad cause he really sounded like he knew what he was talking about. Maybe I can take the coach to him to show him the small amount of square footage. We also can take the furniture, sofa, etc out ourselves and put it back down upon completion. Had a quote from 1/2 that amount from RV Outlet over on 99 but I do not feel warm and fuzzy about them.

I'm not too up on installing laminate or other engineered flooring but does an RV shop have to install it? If you prep the area I would think a flooring installer would do it cheaper, after all, they are pros and use to doing it and should do it faster and neater than an RV shop. I know the DW wouldn't allow it in the MoHo but we are redoing a lot of the house including new flooring throughout and my office is getting some engineered flooring by Homelegend and it's pretty easy to install.

A little off topic but that over hang on your TT looks like 30 feet. Is that a 80 foot TT.

Dianna....keep us updated on this.

I'd be curious to know who has the best price and the best service.

I know Morrison's knows what they are doing, however at twice the price of a competitor it seems steep.
