Can you name some man-made marvels you've stumbled on ? Include locations, please.

1. Spillville Iowa - two brothers living on a farm made clocks. When they passed, their collection was passed to the town so their works are on display in a 2 story building.

2. Mid Michigan, west side - years ago a modest home in the woods was made from recycled materials. Window is from a grocery store and the lettering could be faintly seen. All furnishings were made from tree roots, etc. Mostly he used broken glass to shape the wood and his tools were primitive. Sorry, can't remember the location, it was too many years ago.

Can you name more ?

Roadside America is a site that lists weird stuff that can be seen along the roads of our country. You can even search by state.
One glaring omission, however. They don't mention the six foot tall pyramid made out of empty beer cans to serve as a tomb for a dead, Egyptian-looking mouse. Of course, we were in college at the time, and its probably not there anymore.

Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.

The bas relief in Iron Horse Park, Lincoln NE.

It is constructed entirely of different colored construction bricks.

It is 40 feet wide and 15 feet high.

Here is a close-up:

Most of the people who live in Lincoln don't even know it is there.

Hoover Dam is fascinating... especially having seen all the historical documentaries on TV and then visiting it.

Have toured both the Smithsonian and Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village.

Frankly.. Many amazing things there, epically if you consider the time they were made.

An unnamed Neolithic stone burial tomb that I came across by chance when I jumped over a fence to answer a nature call in Cornwall.

A 4 1/2 Litre Bentley with an 'outside gear lever' just after its very first run after being totally restored, sitting outside of a thatched cottage in a small village in the Cotswolds, in the early morning mist, before dawn, no one there and the engine still 'ticking'.
