TV is LCD and the only other power that was on was the DVD player in the LR. The DVD in the bedroom always powers up and I dont believe I turned it off. I did not think it would be much of draw not playing. I found it strange that the batteries did not use any water in those two years. We are always plugged in winter and summer for about a total of 5 months. Installed inverter for an "just in case". I was origanally going to install a 1000w unit but the Xantrex 3000 X Power I had was paid for. What inverter would be good to hard wire in where the 3000 is? Not sure how to test batteries other than using a test meter and they were alway charged 100%. When I checked them after the TV shut down they were around 11.8 (11.5 is where the beeper is suppose to sound) but figured they quit when the load was about 10.5 is where they were to shut the inverter down.

12v grp 27, charge them up , take them to Autozone or similar store and have them load tested

Options, always have options, and the journey goes much smoother

OK thanks. Trailer is 140 miles away right now. Might have to wait wait until we are done using it. Its plugged in now.

Worked great on 2 6V Trojans in the last trailer before I went to 4 for more longevity. It was then wired whole house. Hair dryer and all worked. Didnt do the Micro.

I'm sure, Mine did too (2,000 watts on a pair of U-2200 Interstates)

But the manufacturer recommends one pair for each 1,000 watts.

As batteries age, they loose capacity and gain internal resistance, this internal resistance can be a biggey when starting an inverter.. However once it has started.. Should not be such a problem at low load levels.

Guess I will look for a inverter somewhere under a 1000w.(like I was originally going to) And sell my 3000 job. And to a battery check.
Thanks for all the answers.

A few things to consider, wire size for the small tv load is adequate as voltage remained low after turn off of load.

Unattended charging of battery with a solar system or even float charging with most so called smart charger is fast death of any lead acid battery.

I run Zantrex 2000 prowatt TSW inverter on lil tiny 8 guage wire about 12 feet of it. There is a 1 farad cap connected right at inverter with a few inches of 4 guage wire to handle the surge of start up. This all runs the freezer /reefer like a charm. 160 watts compressor running.................1500 watts for a few milliseconds start up surge. The cap gives the surge current required then recharges itself otherwise I would need 0000 guage . No other load on this system allowed unless I upgrade the wire and battery bank.

I have lived aboard ships most of my life. Never have I seen a solar charger not destroy a battery in very short order.

A smart float charger hooked to a D8 will usually fail in about 18 months

Same room and setup except the d8 charged by an alternator on its engine the battery last many years.

Batteries like to have the tops knocked off then immediately recharged.
Deep cycle means they got a bigger top.

Many LCD tv's will work on 12 volt DC without an inverter. Just look at the output of their wall wart.

I don't believe that anyone is going to be able to determine the nature of the problem or come up with a solution without some additional information. First of all, you need to know the condition of your batteries and their state of charge. Secondly, you need to be able to measure the current and voltage delivered to the inverter at least for some known load if not the full output. Finally, you need to know how much power the inverter is putting out when you assume it is only powering the entertainment center. Things are not always as they appear.

I agree with whoever said that the batteries you already have should be able to power the load you described for much longer than you observed. At least one of your assumptions is not correct.

X2. Without knowing current draw, battery and inverter voltage you can not determine the root cause(s)
