An amazing collection of good to great girl singers. Most of them I have heard of or still listen to but country is my favorite type and that has to be traditional country and not what they are calling country these days. However I am always searching for new or unknown talents. Today's radio doesn't do it for me so it is satellite radio or you tube. My most recent find was a great traditional girl singer called Amber Digby. Clear voice, strong and while she earlier did a lot of Loretta Lynn and Buck Owens songs she is branching into other great stuff. Try her on You tube. There are others too but she is my current favorite. Early in this thread someone liked K. D. Lang and Roy Orbison together but could not remember the song title. Crying!!! Both had singles of it but Roy no longer could do the high notes so K. D. did them in the duet. A great song and two great singers. My real favorite singer is my wife who does traditional country and much of the same as Amber Digby but is a bit older and her voice is not as strong as it used to be.

I just had to step in and mention a vocalist with one of the clearest voices I've ever heard, IMO anyway: Judy Collins.

Hearing her sing "Amazing Grace" sends chills up (and down) my spine.

Personally I love Reba. While I'm not particularly a fan of the genre, Katherine
Jenkins, who just competed on Dancing With The Stars, is very talented.
Anyone remember Brenda Lee or Connie Francis?

Depends on the song of course but over the entire body of their work, no one has as consistently fine and heart rending voice as Wynonna Judd. She has the depth and range to sing with any other female songster. Same goes for Emma Lou Harris.

I have one of their live albums and her range LIVE (without effects or "help") is just amazing.
