In 7 years of fulltiming, I haven't had a problem with any brand of TP. I use the Sewer Solution as a means of draining which wouldn't work if there was a TP issue. Drains out of a 1" hose.
I always drain my black tank the day before moving and add about a third tank of water to it. Travel and the travel motion emulsifies the solids in the tank and I dump as soon as I arrive at the new destination. Keeps the tank clean and problem free.

For someone living in an RV, which we plan on doing in the next few weeks, is there any real problem with using Charmin bathroom tissue? I like it (for reasons I won't go into) better than anything else on the market. I put it in a glass of water and it does break down, although at a longer period of time and would rather use it than the RV toilet paper (Scott is the best one I've found if I have to use something other). It says it is septic tank safe on the packaging. What might I run into over the long run? Thanks for any input.

We use Charmin all the time. The RV TP is worthless and takes half the roll to,..well... you know. When we dump the black tank we make sure we flush it good from above, from the commode. All the Charmin comes out with the rest of the $h*t.

We use whatever is on sale ... after dumping and adding about 5 gals water, followed by Borateem & dishwashing detergent to tank - quit using 'expensive' tank additive years ago, haven't seen any difference (keep vent open in good weather & have an automatic (timed) air freshener in the bathroom.

Key: 1/3 bowl of water following usage.

We use what we feel comfortable with extra water helps. And drain the tank whenever you get a chance.

I want to thank everyone who replied. So, I guess I'll use my Charmin with plenty of water.

over all 15 plus years of camping with rvs, the 1 time I had kinda clogged up the tank was using Charmin extra soft. I always used a cheaper thinner store brand like Angel Soft or generic.

now I won't ever use Charmin in my rvs again. I use it at home still.
