We are looking at the possibility of a new TT. We currently have 1,000 bars on our EQ hitch. The new trailer would probably mandate a 1,200 bar instead. Am I able to replace the 1,000 bars with 1,200 bars, or would the entire hitch need to be replaced?
I'm not that familiar with the Equal-i-zer WDH, but I don't believe the spring bars would be interchangeable with the same ball mount, so a new Equal-i-zer brand WDH would be required.
I'm sure someone will chime in that knows a little more about the Equal-i-zer brand WDH.
On my old hitch setup the head was the same. The heavier bars were a bit longer though so the frame mounts on the TT had to be moved a little.

I do think you can change out the 1000 lb bars with the 1200 lb bars. I have spoken to Equalizer customer service on several occasions. They are very helpful. The customer support number is:

They just sent me free L brackets because the ones installed on my hitch in 2007 were out of specs (bad run of brackets with holes too far). Good luck.
