We are considering a 2012 KZ Spree 321RKS and are baffled about the fact that it does not have a gravity water fill. We mainly camp at state parks that do not have hook ups and the fresh water fill hose is not usually outfitted with a standard threaded end. Hoping that someone can shed some light on this issue, as it's looking like a deal breaker for us.

A water thief will turn a non threaded spout into a hose connection. Others pack a small DC water pump and pump it into the camper through a hose that way. We have 35 gallons and have never run out, but we have gone to the spout to get dish water and sometimes even toilet water if we plan on a long stay.

ShadySkins, thanks for the picture. When we looked at the camper and asked the dealer about the lack of gravity fill he gave us a very brief explanation, but never showed us a panel like you have pictured. He breezed over the topic like it was no big deal, giving us the impression that #1 he really didn't know and #2 he was down playing it just to make a sale. Any way, I'm going to call him and ask about the location of the panel on the 321RKS as I don't remember seeing one. So now my real question (for those of you with this system) how big of a PITA is it to use? Would it be a deal breaker for you?

I don't have the system or know anything about it. With that said, I assume that you just have one fresh water hose inlet on the trailer and the control box controls the flow for you. This would not work in the state park with no hook up.
Try contacting KZ - they are very helpful!

I boondock and dry camp ALOT (leaving for a week long boondock trip tomorrow) and a gravity fill is mandatory for me. That system would be a deal breaker for me.

It would be a deal breaker for me as well. I just am surprised K-Z would cut corners with something this relatively small, but can mean a lot for people who do more than travel from hookups to hookups.

Haven't seen that before, I don't like it!
Many times I'm filling up 7 gallon portable containers and dumping them in through the outside gravity feed. I guess you are supposed to bring the containers inside and use the 'sanitization' feature to siphon the water into the tank using the water pump. not ideal...
The other problem is I would think there could be a real possibility of overpressurizing your water tank when filling from the city connection. The vent line is probably quite small, it won't be able to keep up with the flow of water in, and you will be pressurizing you whole fresh water tank to whatever pressure the incoming city water is at if you happen to have stepped away when it reaches full. That seems not good to me.

It isn't a big problem to fill the tank thru the siphon hose. One negative is that you will be running the water pump a lot and consuming battery power if you don't have electric.
Another issue it that the hose may not be as clean as you might like it. I installed a tee in the city water line and connected the siphon hose to it. The check valve in the inlet was removed and an inline check valve was installed after the tee. This setup allows me to attach a clean hose to the city water inlet and draw water from a container on the ground.
Now for the big problem for which KZ has no answer. The fresh water tank has two vent lines attached to the side of the tank near the top. You will lose most of your water, while traveling, out the vent hoses. It is necessary to have a lot of venting while the tank is being filled, and some venting while using water. Adding shutoff valves to the vent hoses will eliminate the problem, but it is PITA to turn valves on and off. Also, forget just once and you will blow the tank.
Till KZ has a real answer, run away!

On my mxt there is a silver valve that I turn and the city line is directed into the fresh water tank. As far as adding water to tank from jugs you use the hose on the pump that you use to winterize the trailer.
