Has anyone swapped out a ceiling light fixture in their fiver for a ceiling fan? Having a fan to circulate the air better would be fantastic, but not sure how easy this would be on a fiver. I have done several in our home, even done the wiring, but I am not sure if the wiring to the light would be the same to the fan? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Most of all celing light fixtures are of the 12VDC variety.

Get a volt meter and see if it is A/C or D/C. If it is D/C then you would have to remove the D/C source and run the A/C wiring.

Mine was just the opposite...it came with a very nice Harbor Breeze 120V ceiling fan...I added a light fixture to it. My two fantastic fans are 12V. As stated above, take a multi-meter/volt meter, and see if you are getting 12V or 120V in the location your checking. When you find out what voltage is available where you want to mount the fan you would next need to make sure you have enough support in the ceiling for the fan.

The ceiling fan makes the ceiling very dirty. If we had thought about it, we would have eliminated it when we ordered our current RV. We will never use it.

We are fulltiming and use our ceiling fan all the time. Does not make ceiling dirty!

Four years in previous fiver and it didn't get dirty either.

Our ceiling fan makes the ceiling dirty too. Maybe it has something to do with having a carpet ceiling or the fan is to close to the ceiling over the Montana.

We quit using ours and bought a small oscillating fan from Wal-Mart. Works a 100% better.

The fan blades get dirty and require cleaning but the ceiling doesn't. Ours is on all the time when plugged in and in our stick house the fans only get turned off to clean them. No problem with the cieling there either.

Our Everest came w/a 120vac ceiling fan, and we use it a lot. No dirty ceiling problem, but we have had blades broken when bringing in the slides. I'm told that the torque of the blades pushing air will eventually cause the blade brackets to deform, causing the blades to sag enough to get caught by the slide.
I've had service folks at two different (competing) locations tell me this is "normal."
Not sure I believe that, but it does happen. Just something else to think about.

We had a Forest River Wildwood with two ceiling fans. Both were 12V 3 speed. Worked very well and we loved them. Miss them in our new camper.

Doesn't make our ceiling dirty either, ours is a vinyl type ceiling...and of course, at times, you'll have to clean the fan blades, but that's just another part of maintaining things.
