Hey Happy campers,
Is there anybody traveling on Vancouver Island? Where is your favorite spot? A couple of favorite spots are Thunderbird RV and Pacific Playgrounds.

A couple of years ago we decided to take all of September and do the Island. Well we took all of September but never got beyond Campbell river. So Last September we headed up to Port Hardy and worked our way down.
We have covered all of western Canada & US. All places are wonderful but the Island has it all. At least in the summer/ fall.
I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite place. I'll sleep on it and give you some ideas tomorrow.
The less you plan the more options you have.

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

We are currently at the Salmon Point RV Resort and Marina south of Campbell River. We come here every year, stay usually six weeks. Hard to beat this place. Before leaving the Island, we stay at West Bay Marina in Victoria, overlooking the harbor. Been to others from Victoria to Port Hardy, but these two are at the top of the list.

We are spoiled in as much as We live at Sproat Lake near Port Alberni. It makes it very difficult for Us to leave Home to Camp when we have the Best Place right here in Our Backyard!

We lived at Shawnigan Lake on south VanIsle until a year ago ... but the Island got too busy even on the backroads. So we moved to Yukon!
On the Island, Buttle Lake was a favorite spot with the Ralph River campground being our preferred campground on the lake.

I did enjoy the Telegraph Cove area. The RV park is more like a serviced parking lot but we got to see these:
