I am sure it couldent pull the trailer by its self. Kinda stupid with all the other trucks around, but it worked.

All it needed was a little extra traction - not a big deal.

I hate to admit it, but our Subaru all wheel drive can run circles around our 4W drive truck in the snow and mud.

I had an 02 Forester; I drove through a crazy snowstorm in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Canada on vacation and it didn't flinch (yes it had brand new tires helping the cause but I was still impressed).

Those light 4x4's do great until the undercarriage hangs up on deep snow, sand, or mud. Had a guy down here in a brand new Subaru spin his wheels in the deep sand so hard trying to tow his Hobie Cat offf the beach that he set fire to the car - total loss.

If the Ram owner used a WD hitch he'd actually have weight on the front axle and the 4x4 would be beneficial.

The Subie did a great job, excellent AWD system. If it had all terrain tires he really would have gotten the job done.
