Well, we finally bought a trailer. We bought the Jayco 26bh (2008) model. We're both teachers and spend most of the summer camping at various national parks in Colorado/WY/Montana. We had to dip into our savings a little bit but we were able to pay cash for it. We had originally looked at a new one as the price in my opinion was reasonable for what you got (I personally feel like the Jayflight is a bargain) but in the end we didn't want to make any payments and had to settle for a used but well kept unit. We're going to pay ourselves back over the next 4 or 5 months to recoup the money we took out of our savings. I figure I'd rather loan the money to myself than have to pay interest to a bank.

This isn't our first trailer, we have actually had 2 pop-ups and a small 18 footer. But my Dad is getting older and he won't go out anymore unless he has us so to me it's worth it. My son LOVES his new big bed with the Lightening McQueen poster!

We'll be pulling with a 1 ton Chevy 15 passenger van with a 6.0 liter so power won't be an issue at all. No pics as of yet as I leave tomorrow morning for a 4 day fishing trip.

Just wanted to share the happy news!

have fun! and if that's austin, TEXAS, you're in, you have a whole bunch of great state parks within 'weekending' distance...even lucky enough to have McKinney Falls SP right there in the city limits on the south side!

Congrats on the new trailer, you just saved yourselves thousands by buying a nice used TT. We bought a 2008 2 years ago and could not be happier. Paying cash is always the best way to go if you can swing it and you have a lender you can trust. Now the real fun starts, great TT & TV nothing but fun down the road.

Thanks all. We aren't going to pick it up until next week because I'm leaving for a fishing trip in the morning and he has it at a covered lot. The roof is crazy dirty though from all the dust and he admitted that he has never once been on the roof. I got on it before the purchase and it needs a good cleaning and a recaulk for sure. I told him he's lucky that he's always had it covered otherwise he would have had a rotten roof. I found a two inch gash on the roof that'll be fixed with eternabond.

A little late to the thread but congrats. We also just bought a 26Bh (2012). We brought it home Aug. 4 of this year. I just love the floorplan. Everything I want and need.

Like you, I previously had 2 pop ups (12' box Rockwood Freedom 2290 and 12' box Starcrafat 2406), and a smaller 2008 Jayco Jay Flight 19BH. The 19BH is the 'exact' same floorplan but without the front bedroom and a cabinet where the walk through to the bedroom would had been.

I liked the 26BH at the time but wasn't married yet and my 2008 Sport Trac V8 didn't have the hitch rating to carry the 26BH. Wish it did, as it offers so much more storage.

For 2012, Jayco done away with the Jay Flight G2 and merged some it's lux features in the standand Jay Flight line and then offers a new Jay Flight Swift line thats more stripped than the original Jay Flight.

Our son also loves the new bed, more so because he has the area to himself for now, until his sister gets older. With the 19BH, he had the top bunk with us in the lower double bed.

Enjoy your camper, I know we will. We have yet to get it out.
