Looks like we are going to have to forgo reading strange threads that require too much of this
to get thru them!

It can cause brain damage! Or is it reading those type of threads that cause brain damage?

A recent study published in Chemical Research in Toxicology has found a troubling link between artificial butter flavoring in microwave popcorn and Alzheimer’s disease.
Diacetyl, a flavoring used to produce the buttery flavor and aroma in microwave popcorn, has an architecture similar to a substance that makes beta-amyloid proteins clump together in the brain.....exposure may also be causing toxic effects on nerve cells.

On the serious side though, just WHEN are they going to get it that these chemicals in our food is just plain dangerous. And 'not' put them in our food, instead of doing it and then testing and finding deadly results 20 years later.
Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA currently classifies diacetyl as "generally recognized as safe".

We'll need to change to plan micro popcorn and put in our own REAL butter. It has to be better for us than that chemical crap. And taste better too!

Besides, if all we do is sit here reading and responding to all the rants, we'll die from a stroke or heart attack before we die from cancer.

A side effect of Alzheimers is we won't remember what we red or posted.

Also, who makes better tow vehicle Chevy, Ford, or Dodge?

"Diacetyl is also used in beer making and some chardonnay wines."

So, does that mean you are giving up booze?

I'm sure it would be EASIER to police what people can eat if they could ever make a firm decision on what is acceptable and what is not. One week dairy is out and next week it's considered healthy (both with caveats). No WONDER nobody fully understands the subject. I grew up in a period when what was considered to be healthy foods was a FAR cry from today's list and tomorrows list....anybody's guess.

Humans have a NATURAL life span of something like 50 years and we are always trying to expand on that with health care and food additives and other pharmaceuticals. Food safety is largely measured by whether it's better than the PREVIOUS batch of chemically altered items NOT against what is natural. If all chemicals were removed from our foods the resulting INCREASE in death would be remarkable from eating spoiled foods etc. that many of these chemicals are currently preventing. I agree some should be banned but it will always be an on-going thing which are good and which are bad.

Scientific evidence suggests but does not prove that eating whatever you want, when you want improves mental health.

Did you know Pistachios are naturally gluten-free, taste good, may reduce the risk of heart disease, and you can buy them already shelled

A simple solution - if it tastes good, spit it out!

Back when I was little, we were taught the opposite, if it tasted bad, or spoiled, Spit it out, but now they add chemicals to food to prevent spoilage, because we are not smart enough to know when food is spoiled.

I remember when the FDA wanted brewers to remove a carcinogen that is a natural by product of lager brewing. In court, it was proven that you would have to drink a case a day for over 20 years for it to cause cancer! Oh, Wait, wouldn't cirrhosis get you before that? Score, Brewers 1, FDA 0.
Bring another Barley pop for me Honey, before the popcorn gets stale?
