While lightening strikes and the US Park Service practices fire science. A weeks-old blaze in Lassen Volcanic National Park grew to more than 12,500 acres Friday evening.
Wonder if it is the same folks who burned down lots of Los Alamos.

They don't seem too worried about this fire. The Rush fire near US395 is larger, closer to structures, and has the potential for more damage.
Most of the comments from the Redding article seem to be from people with the 'fight fire at all cost' philosophy. They are more concerned about the dollar value of the timber harvest, than the long term health of the forest.
