I am receiving e-mails today of topic subscriptions but the latest reply in those threads are several days/ weeks old.

I am not overly concerned. I guess I am just posting this to see if other members' are experiencing the same thing and if so be this a response for the tech folks running this website.

X2! RV.net IT / Moderators please fix. My email inbox is getting spammed badly.

OK... now it is getting annoying... several more notifications have come through since posting this and they are piling up!

More info for the IT techies: The notifications are for replies from a long time ago. When I click in the link it will go (for example) to page 25 of a thread that is 35 pages long. These apparently are old notification of folks who posted quite some time ago.

I went to my subscription page to unsubscribe and these notifications are from post of which I already unsubscribed!!!

What's up??

We moderators can't "fix it." I will post a trouble ticket.

I will point out that this is a recurring issue that shows up a couple of times a year. I don't know that "clogs" the mail server nor what finally flushes it.

Me, I don't use email notification for topics, forums, or members to which I subscribe. Instead, I keep a tab open to my My Forums page and refresh it periodically, That will tell be if a new post has been made to or by one of my subscriptions.

If they are already in the works, then when the system unclogs, the emails will be sent regardless of your forum preferences. The notifications are composed when a post is added and sent to the mail server. The issue here is not one of the forum composing and sending notifications two weeks late. The emails are composed by the forum software and sent to the server; that is where the delay happens.

I have received over 30 notifications this morning on old posts as well.

Who broke the forum?? Are these some of the new changes that are supposed to be coming down the pike?
