Maybe it's me but I can't stand trolls who just join this forum and then post all day long, often, sabotaging threads by arguing over stuff that has no relevance to the original post. It really detracts from the forum and just makes it less fun to be on here.

I hear ya! Can neither confirm or deny this, but there may be some provisions in the Open Roads Forums which can set posts to be approved before actually being displayed. A common feature with many forum software. I've noticed that some lets say known problematic member's posts are not displayed in the forums until some time after they have been submitted. Could simply be a glitch, but if approvals are in fact set for some members, I would think it's used sparingly as it involves an already daunting task of monitoring regular forum posts. But again, I could be completely wrong?

Can't recall ever noticing that here....

My posts shouldn't be taken for factual data. They are purely fictional, for entertainment purposes and should not be constituted as actually related to scientific, technical, engineering, legal, spiritual or practical advice. Amen.

If you click on the 'trolls' name you will see a 'Block this member' clicky. Click on it and block them......they can still post but YOU will not see their post (unless their post is quoted by some one).

Personally I just skip reading their post.

I think I'd be interested in a link to a thread where this occurs. I've noticed some trolls but can't recall that they have much effect on someone ELSE'S thread. Usually they start their OWN making some silly premise or another. Of course this doesn't bother me much either because I can CHOOSE which threads I want to read.

For what it's worth, going to a system that requires approval will kill this forum faster than you can imagine. Almost as fast as requiring that posted topics be "new" subjects

I like trolls. Troll house cookies are great! I don't really like troll roads, but usually troll bridges are a good shortcut to going around. And who could ever forget the quote "For whom the bell trolls?, it trolls for thee!"

Seems like starting a topic complaining about trolls could be considered trolling.

Lighten up. Enjoy the parts you like and ignore the rest.

On the other hand, on other sites I've heard complaints about trolls but it simply turned out that the complainants didn't understand the subject....

Or those who complain because someone posts "too much detail" or "becomes too technical"

Trolls are annoying but less so that those who insist that content be exactly as they dictate.

Since no example was posted, I have to assume that the OP was trolling.....
